Chris was inspired to take on the challenge of writing children's books by his own children. And he has found that it is when he is at his most happiest. Watching a child's face when you are reading your own story is a wonderful moment in time, and it encourages him to continue. Chris reads to his three girls every night bringing the family altogether in one calm place. Reading each night also draws out other conversations with his daughters. It is such a powerful way to connect with your children.
Chris hopes readers (young and old) enjoy his first foray into children's picture books. Chris has been a member of the Australian Public Service all of his adult life, firstly as an officer with the Australian Regular Army, then Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, now on staff at the National Security College of the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. 'Hannah Paints the Moon' is Chris's first published effort, with three other young reader books ('Fruit Salad', 'Ten White Lions' and 'Come Down Kitty') currently in production. Chris will regularly write musings on this sites blog spot that he hopes will be of interest, in particular for those looking to write their first book.
